For over twenty years, I have been exploring ethnic and folk music as a musician, multi-instrumentalist and sound explorer.

My work brings together Irish, Mediterranean and folk traditions, through festivals, concerts and artistic projects across Italy. I play harmonica, Irish bouzouki, mandolin and guitar, combining traditional roots, live energy and a contemporary sensibility.

That same curiosity also finds its way into small audio tools for making music.

Smart Track Delay

A little timing. A wider sense of space.

Shape your stereo image with independent delay and level controls for the left and right channels. Four knobs, a familiar front panel, and room to experiment.

Installation & getting started
  1. Close your DAW and extract the ZIP archive.
  2. Copy the complete SmartTrackDelay.vst3 folder, including its contents, to C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3.
  3. Reopen your DAW, rescan your plugins if needed, and add Smart Track Delay to a stereo track or group.

Adjust each side’s delay and level independently. A mono recording can stay mono, but the plugin needs a stereo track or group. There is no added dry signal or feedback. Check your mix in mono when using different left and right delays.

Smart Mastering

Four controls. One mastering chain.

Gentle bus compression, gain, look-ahead limiting and an output ceiling in one stereo effect. The four controls follow the signal from left to right: COMPRESS, GAIN, LIMIT and CEILING.

Installation & getting started
  1. Requires Windows 64-bit and a DAW with VST3 support.
  2. Close your DAW, extract the ZIP and copy the complete SmartMastering.vst3 folder, including its contents, to C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3.
  3. Reopen your DAW, rescan if needed, and insert Smart Mastering on a stereo master bus or stereo group.

Start with COMPRESS at 0%, GAIN and LIMIT at 0 dB, and CEILING at −1 dBTP. Add a little compression, adjust the gain, then lower the limiter threshold gradually. Compare at a similar listening level and check your final export.

The dynamics stages are stereo-linked. The VU meters display averaged output levels, not LUFS or true-peak readings. Look-ahead latency is reported to the DAW for delay compensation.

Three algorithmic reverbs and a vintage-style tape echo. Add depth and space to harmonica, guitar, vocals and keyboards, with independent effect levels and tempo-synced repeats.

Installation & getting started

  3. Reopen your DAW, rescan if needed, and insert Smart Effects on an instrument track or effects bus.

In INSERT mode, the original dry signal stays unchanged while the reverb and echo run in parallel. In SEND mode, only the effects are returned. Set their LEVEL controls independently, choose Room, Plate or Hall, and enable SYNC to follow your DAW’s tempo.

For stereo ambience from a mono instrument, use a mono-to-stereo insert or a stereo effects bus. The plugin has no output limiter: watch the PEAK lamp and leave headroom when adding effects.
