SMART ANALYZER 1.2.1 Windows 64-bit VST3 Created by Andrea Di Tella https://www.andreaditella.com Spectrum, level, loudness and stereo analysis for your master bus. Smart Analyzer passes audio through unchanged, with no added audio latency. Mono and stereo layouts, and 32-bit or 64-bit floating-point audio, are supported. Free to use with no limitations. Optional donations support development: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/andreaditella INSTALLATION 1. Close your DAW and applications using audio plugins. 2. Extract this ZIP archive. 3. Copy the complete SmartAnalyzer.vst3 folder into: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 4. Keep Contents and all its subfolders together. Do not copy just the inner file. Accept the Windows administrator prompt if requested. 5. Open your DAW and rescan VST3 plugins if necessary. REQUIREMENTS AND POSITION Windows 64-bit and a host supporting 64-bit VST3 effects. Place Smart Analyzer after the processing and level adjustments you want to measure. On a master bus, it is normally the last effect after EQ and limiting. Check your DAW's pre/post-fader routing if you need to measure the final output. It can remain enabled during export: it does not change the audio. SPECTRUM The logarithmic graph covers 20 Hz to 20 kHz, limited by the sample rate's available frequency range. The vertical scale is in dBFS, with a +6 dBFS top. LEFT / RIGHT shows separate amber and pale-green channel curves. AVERAGE combines channel energy, so opposite-phase stereo content remains visible. Mono input uses one channel without duplicating its energy. Faint MAX traces retain spectral maxima until RESET or a resolution change. Move the pointer over the graph to read frequency and level. The FFT display is a visual guide, not a loudness or true-peak meter. DISPLAY KNOBS RESPONSE: 50 to 1500 ms; controls how quickly the spectrum falls after a change. SMOOTHING: 0 to 100%; from no frequency smoothing to about one-third octave. RANGE: 60 to 120 dB; changes the graph's vertical display span only. RESOLUTION: LOW (4096 samples), MEDIUM (8192) or HIGH (16384). HIGH gives more frequency detail but needs a longer window of incoming audio. Changing it clears the spectrum and its spectral maxima, without resetting loudness. Double-click each knob to restore its default: 250 ms, 30%, 90 dB, MEDIUM. Click the value field below a knob to enter a setting directly. HOLD / RESET HOLD freezes the spectrum while level, loudness and stereo measurements continue. RESET releases HOLD and clears loudness history, elapsed time and all maxima. The reset takes effect when the host next supplies audio. For a whole-song measurement, press RESET and play the track from start to finish once. Repeated playback and loops count towards the integrated measurement until RESET. LEVEL METERS Separate L/R bars show RMS level with a fast peak marker. Values are in dBFS. The RMS readout uses a roughly 300 ms averaging response. CLIP lights indicate samples reaching or exceeding 0 dBFS. These are sample-clip indicators. In mono, the second bar is inactive. SAMPLE MAX retains the maximum sample peak of each channel since RESET. LOUDNESS MOMENTARY: LUFS over the last 400 ms; available after a full window. SHORT-TERM: LUFS over the last 3 seconds; available after a full window. INTEGRATED: gated programme loudness since RESET, excluding sufficiently quiet blocks according to the loudness gating algorithm. MAX TRUE PEAK: highest oversampled true-peak estimate since RESET, in dBTP. MAX M / MAX S retain the maximum momentary and short-term readings. Loudness uses BS.1770-style K-weighting and absolute/relative gating. True peak is measured separately from sample peak and can be higher between samples. This plugin does not adjust loudness, normalize, limit or prevent clipping. Measurements continue with the editor closed whenever the host supplies audio. IDLE means the editor has received no recent audio updates; previous loudness values and maxima remain visible. The elapsed timer counts analyzed audio. Measurement history is not restored with a DAW project; display settings are. Changing the audio sample rate or bus configuration starts a new measurement. STEREO FIELD The vectorscope shows Mid vertically and Side horizontally. Its display gain adapts for readability; use the level meters for absolute level measurements. A narrow vertical trace indicates similar channels. A wider trace indicates more stereo difference. A horizontal trace can indicate opposite-phase content. Correlation ranges from -1 to +1. Negative readings can indicate cancellation when summed to mono. Silence and one-sided stereo signals display a neutral 0. ABOUT / DONATE ABOUT shows version, author and a clickable website link. DONATE opens the optional PayPal donation page. CLOSE or Escape closes About. The window is resizable. Display settings can be automated and saved by the DAW.
